Dance
It Off: If the last time you danced was at your high school prom
or wedding, it's high time you hit the dance floor. Thanks to the popularity of
TV dance shows, getting your groove on has become more popular than ever.
Studies show that professional ballroom dancers are capable of burning 260
calories per hour (a burn rate equivalent to a fast walk.) Even for
nonprofessional dancers, boogying makes for a better heart rate and improved
overall physical fitness and muscle tone, similar to a walk-jog training
program, Here's a rundown of some of the hottest dance-based fitness classes to
inspire you to get up and bust a move. Cardio Salsa - A
low-impact but high-intensity workout combining precise, fast-paced Latin
choreography with traditional aerobic dance steps, repeated lunges and arm
raises. Much of the action is centered on the glutes and core. Vegas Jazz -
A moderately challenging, sleek and showy version of traditional jazz dance
with a focus on maintaining stick-straight posture. The abs, back, butt and
legs take the brunt of this workout. Cardio Capoeira - A form of
martial arts disguised as dance. This ultra-challenging sweat session involves
heavy moving that can be done either solo or with a partner. In this workout,
the buttocks, quadriceps and hamstrings are guaranteed to really burn thanks to
multiple repetitions of a deep, side-to-side lunge linking one-capoeira movement
to the next. Belly Dance - An ancient Middle Eastern dance. The
emphasis of this high-intensity workout is on the belly, specifically holding
the abs steady while vigorously shaking and rocking the hips. Jazz and ballet
moves are added to flesh out the dance combinations and tone the entire body.
Enjoy the latest beat-based workouts to relax your mind and flatten your belly.

Modern Day Air Travel: Traveling by airplane is bound to be a day where you
don’t get the physical exercise or nutritional value you need. Get ready for
the glamour of modern day travel; standing in security lines, waiting for
delayed flights, jostling with fellow passengers to store your carry-on,
sitting on the runway, and eventually making it to your destination. Air travel
is in true survival mode these days and that means more people than ever are
packing their own snacks and even meals to help get them through the day. Here
are travel-tested tips to help you navigate nutritiously when you fly. Start the day ready for battle with a good
breakfast including fiber rich and filling whole grain cereal or oatmeal and a
big glass of orange juice. The hundreds of nutrients in OJ help boost your
immune system to give you a fighting chance to ward off cold and flu germs
floating in the cabin air. Make your own trail mix comprised of peanuts,
almonds, raisins and other dried fruits. Healthy fats and stomach filling fiber
will keep you keep going and this combo will be much lower in sodium than the
on board snack mixes. You’ll want to cut down on sodium intake as all the
sitting can lead to unwanted puffiness and swelling. If you plan on eating in
the airport, many have outlets selling freshly made sandwiches, salads, yogurts
and even sushi. A salad is great, but make sure it contains some kind of
protein, such as chicken, turkey, ham, eggs or cheese to keep your blood sugar
on an even keel. Stress can also take a toll driving your blood sugar level
down way below normal. Lastly, be sure to stay hydrated. Dehydration can cause
fatigue, headaches and irritability and you’re already at risk for all three
being in an airport. Throw some bottled water in your bag and good luck with
your travels. (FoodFit.com)

Find Your Laugh: Are you
worried about the avian flu, terrorism, or the diminishing amount of money in
your bank account? If you are script-writing your life into worst-case
scenarios, try taking a breath and remembering to laugh. Life was not meant to be
serious and significant all the time. So, if you’re short on patience and have
lost your laugh, try spending some time with a child this month. Statistics
show that the average child laughs 400 times per day while the average adult
chuckles only 15 times. Don’t be average. Find your laugh! (Brought to you by Jason

Wholeness: Do something positive and valuable in one area of your
life, and every other part of your life will benefit from it. The joy you
create and experience in one setting will go with you into other situations. By
the same token, any negativity in one part of your life will exert unfavorable
influence on other parts of your life. Everything that is a part of you is a
part of all of you. When you work to improve your skill at one task, it brings
added confidence to all other tasks that you undertake. When you nurture a
true sense of peace in your home life, your life at work becomes more calm and
peaceful as well. Your health, your career, your family, your faith, your
learning, your interests and enjoyments are all intertwined with each other.
And as such, you always have countless specific opportunities to nurture and
lift up the whole of your life. Give your very best to each and every aspect of
your life. An abiding sense of excellence and integrity will add much to the
whole of your world. (Global
