LifeBalance Program Helps Members Battle Prices at the Pump
PORTLAND, OREGON (May 2008) - As gas prices skyrocket with no end in sight, the LifeBalance Program has crafted a unique solution for its nearly 400,000 members by providing options that help minimize the need to fill up a the pump. By partnering with grocery delivery services, car sharing companies (that do not require drivers to pay for fuel) and other alternative transportation resources, the LifeBalance Program helps alleviate the burden caused by high fuel costs.
“Our clients, like most employers, are concerned about the financial ramifications that rising fuel prices have on their employees. In order to reduce the impact of those costs on each individual, the LifeBalance Program has developed unique solutions that offer members no only the opportunity to avoid filling their gas tanks and receive discounts when utilizing these gas-saving options, but to also have fun and lead an active lifestyle in the process,” said Paul Alati, LifeBalance Program Director.
In addition to fuel saving options like grocery delivery and car sharing, the program has also developed a multitude of resources to encourage members to participate in activities that require little or no driving. When a LifeBalance member is considering biking to work, LifeBalance provides coaching tips, informational articles and savings on equipment to help get the member started. Similarly, LifeBalance members interested in giving back to their community can find options for at-home and neighborhood community service projects in the LifeBalance Community Corner.
The LifeBalance Program has also crafted tools making it easier to locate LifeBalance activities and events close in proximity to work or home allowing members to avoid excess driving without giving up extracurricular activities.
“The LifeBalance Program has launched several new search options that allow members to find components of the program that are near their homes and offices. This makes it easy to join a gym, practice yoga, go swimming or see a play without spending as much money on fuel,” said Alati.
