LifeBalance Offers Inflation Busting Solutions
PORTLAND, OREGON (August 2008) - As the economy slows and employees and employers alike look for solutions to rising prices the LifeBalance Program provides assistance with a new component to the decade old active wellness program. The Inflation Busters section of the program offers members money saving solutions to every day financial issues.
Each solution is introduced by the fictional character Svend Wisely, a “struggling poet, avid cyclist, master chef, family man, crack economist and recently appointed poet laureate of the LifeBalance Program.” Through clever rhymes, Svend encourages members to utilize LifeBalance services to save money by cooking or gardening rather than dining out, riding a bike rather than driving and engaging in countless other activities that require reduced financial investment.
Members interested in learning more about each inflation busting opportunity are then directed to lists of LifeBalance providers (local businesses) who offer discounts to members and educational resources providing members with expert advice on engaging in these money saving activities.
“Our members have a unique opportunity with the advent of the Inflation Busters component of the LifeBalance Program,” said Dave Miller, LifeBalance Program Director. “While anyone who decides to ride a bike to work rather than drive can save money on fuel, through the LifeBalance Vendor Network our members can also save on the bike and equipment purchase and tune ups as well as access instructional articles from our LifeBalance experts to make the ride as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible.”
“We also recognize that riding a bike is not a viable money saving option for all of our members so we have expanded the Inflation Busters section to include a variety of opportunities so that each LifeBalance member has a unique opportunity to find personal inflation busting savings,” said Miller.
